Ping Riverbank Protection Structure Damaged, Not a Dam Collapse

Thai PBS Verify investigated a viral post claiming that a "stone riprap dam collapsed along the Ping River" in Khlong Khlung District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. The investigation revealed that the damage occurred to a riverbank erosion protection structure, not a water storage dam or a main river barrier. Meanwhile, water management agencies reported that northern runoff volumes tend to decrease, though rainfall during October 11–13, 2026, still requires close monitoring.
